This Week at Holy Family

TONIGHT: SCRIPTURE@TRIBES Our weekly bible study will take a break in July and possibly August. Join us tonight at Tribes Coffee House, 3470 Zafarano Dr. for one last meeting until then. We gather around 5:30 p.m. and begin our study of scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday at 6 p.m., ending by 7 p.m. Bring your bible. All are welcome! Readings for this Sunday: 2 Sam 1:1, 17-27, Ps 130, 2 Cor 8:7-15 and MK 21:43.

SUNDAY, JULY 1 HEALING SUNDAY Our Gospel this Sunday includes two stories of healing. The Book of Common Prayer, page 861, defines healing or unction as “the rite of anointing of the sick with oil, or the laying on of hands, by which God’s grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind and body.” This Sunday, Pastor Corinne will share a story of her own healing and after worship, she will offer healing to anyone who is in need of physical, mental or spiritual healing. This will kick off a new healing ministry at our church and monthly healing will now be offered each first Sunday. We are blessed to have a couple parishioners who have been healing ministers in the past. If you are interested in the healing ministry, please sign up in the hallway and Pastor Corinne will contact you. To grow and ground this ministry, we will be reading and reflecting on a book together.

PRAYER SQUARES The Prayer Squares group meets on the second Wednesday of each month to knit and crochet squares, which are then sewn into blankets/shawls. We meet at the church from 6:30/7 to 8:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month. No experience is necessary and yarn, hooks and needles are supplied. Please join us July 11 and August 8 for fun, fellowship, and treats.
