This Week at Holy Family

THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY We gather at 5:30, officially start at 6 and end by 7 p.m. at Santa Fe Place Mall Food Court. Bible study will take a summer break from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7 HEALING will be offered after worship. If you are in need of healing of spirit, mind or body, please remain in the sanctuary and allow enough space between you and the person in front of you.                                        

COMMUNICATIONS TEAM meets after worship. If you are interested in increasing awareness of our church via social media, the website, advertising or public relations, join us.                                                                                                                                                  

COMMUNITY PRESENCE GROUP will also meet following worship. This group's focus is on events that put Holy Family into the community without necessarily providing a direct service.  As an example, one idea is to hold the Blessing of the Animals at an area park. Anyone with ideas and/or interest is welcome to join. Please look for Morag Smith, Margo Sanabria, or Kay Storr.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10 PRAYER SQUARES, 6-8 p.m. Knitting, crocheting, fellowship and mutual support.  

EPISCOPAL CHURCH 101 Next class SATURDAY, APRIL 13, 9:30-11 a.m. “Worship: Holy Hardware & More”.                                    

PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 14 The Liturgy of the Palms followed by regular Sunday service with the reading of the Passion according to Luke. If you would like to read a part in the Passion reading, please pick up a part and write down your name today at the front table. If you are not a regular lector, this is the perfect way to participate.  You get to remain in your seat and read your part.  Lectors, please allow new people to give it a try!

APRIL SERVICE PROJECT During Lent, we are collecting items for the Institute of American Indian Arts student pantry. Bring items on or before Maundy Thursday to the vicar’s office; delivery to the pantry will Good Friday. Needed items: clothing, snacks, kitchen items (tableware, dishes, etc.), household items (towels and twin/full/queen bedding), and baby items & clothing (from 3 months to 4T).

HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE:  MAUNDY THURSDAY, APRIL 18 Foot washing and the last Holy Eucharist before Easter 6:30 p.m.  GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 19 Confessions 4-5:30 p.m. Veneration of the Cross 6:30 p.m.   SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION: EASTER APRIL 21 10:30 a.m. worship followed by festive hospitality hour, hosted by the Storrs.

UTO MITE BOXES United Thank Offering helps build churches and schools, make needed renovations, feed the hungry, clothe the poor and provide shelter for the homeless. Take a mite box from the front table in the hallway and fill it with blessings. Return it to church Easter week.      

BLUE SHIRT WORKDAY May 4 starting at 10 a.m., we will be clearing brush with the La Cienega Volunteer Fire Dept. as part of Rancho Viejo Firewise Day. Gloves will be provided. Wear your Holy Family blue shirt if you have one; otherwise Firewise T-shirts will be provided. Bring sun protection and masks, if you have breathing issues.

HOLY HIKE Saturday, May 11, 9:30 to 3 p.m. Join our very own expert hiker Bill Cooper for a hike on Lion’s Cave Trail in Bandelier National Park. Bill was the Coordinator for the Southwestern Mountaineers Technical Rescue team and was on the National Ski Patrol for 17 years. He will lead our three-hour hike in God’s great creation. We will meet at church, departing at 9:30 a.m. and return by around 3 p.m. Bring plenty of water, snacks and walking sticks, as needed. SPF and hiking shoes too.
