This Week at Holy Family

THIS WEEK AT HOLY FAMILY                                              

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE MEETING Sunday, August 25 after worship.

PRAYER SQUARES meets for knitting, crocheting, support and fellowship the second and fourth Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m. at church. Next gatherings: August 28, September 11 and 25.

DEACON PAT’S FIRST SUNDAY will be September 1, the 18th anniversary of her ordination to the deaconate. Please join us as we welcome her to Holy Family!

POSTULANT PENNI’S FIRST SUNDAY will be September 8. Penni will be serving as field work student for the next two academic years (September through May).  She is a Postulant for Holy Orders to the Priesthood and is in her second year of study in the diocesan Iona Program. In her time with us, Penni will preach at least three times a semester, serve as LEM, Lector, Healing Minister and in other ministries.  She will learn from us and we will learn from her. Please welcome Penni!

WEEKLY EVENING PRAYER & BIBLE STUDY Starting Thursday, September 12, we will have Evening Prayer at 5:30 p.m. and bible study from 6 to 7 p.m. at church. We will study the readings for the upcoming Sunday, making our worship more meaningful. 

ALTAR GUILD MEETING Sunday, September 22 after worship.  We will meet with Deacon Pat and our new field work student Penni Chambers. Together we review the setting of the altar and answer any questions. We will also bless our new altar linens!  

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH Please pray for our church community: “We pray for the growth of this baptismal community. Lord, build up our church in spirit, mind and body.  Amen.”
